We can’t wait to see you at the Girl Walk // All Day premiere on Thursday, December 8th at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple, and are thrilled to announce the rest of the night’s showbill:
The night will kick off with a live visual light extravaganza by the one and only Joshua Light Show accompanied by tunes spun by DJ McG. After the screening, DJ’s Eamon Harkin + Justin Carter (aka Mister Saturday Night) will be at the reigns of our dance party. You might have been to one of their loft parties, or Mister Sunday parties or unknowingly danced to their beats. Either way, we’re thrilled to have them on board, and if you want to check ‘em out in advance, they’ve got a party coming up on December 3rd and mixes online.
In the venue you’ll also find photographic magic from old-timey photobooth Shootbooth and clever and expeditious artworks from Fastest Possible Drawings. Dancer John Doyle (aka The Skeleton) will also take the stage for the premiere of a new dance piece, Wings.
So, ARE YOU READY FOR DECEMBER 8TH? We hope so.

Carly and I took a trip to the Pioneer Valley this past weekend and as we cycled on the bike path between Northampton and Amherst, I couldn’t help but get nostalgic for my time at Smith. I was instantly brought back to my 5AM wake-up calls when I would drag myself out of bed, haul heavy lighting equipment into my car, and drive throughout the wilderness of the valley to photograph the forest in the magic hour.

I was so excited about learning and creating at that time in my life. It has honestly taken me about 2 years to get back to that point, to the point of enthusiastically devouring every learning opportunity that has crossed my path (thanks Skillshare, Etsy+ BK Brainery!). I’m excited to be back on the creativity wagon.
I will be teaching my very first Skillshare class on June 29th at 7PM. Last night Skillshare was described to me as “crack for curious people” which pretty much explains why I am so obsessed with this awesome startup. I love learning. About everything. Now, Skillshare is helping me do that.

This year for Poem in Your Pocket Day I chose to carry “Diving into the Wreck” by Adrienne Rich. This recording of Rich reading her poem makes me fall in love with it (and her) all over again, her voice is so intoxicating, so full of weight. Have I mentioned how excited I get during National Poetry Month?
Today I took a letterpress class at The Arm in Williamsburg. Not only did I learn how to use all of the presses, I also was able to make this poster! There really is no party like a pizza party, except maybe when ice cream is on the table. In which case, I might have to go for the ice cream social.
